About Me
I was born in 1973 and I'm from Jacksonville, Florida. I dedicated my life to Jesus in 1992 and started telling people about him stateside and abroad. I am known as a goofball and also like to use lite humor in much that I do and write about. If you ever meet me, you will know that I am a little crazy, but my craziness never goes to waste. If Jesus was here, he would know that I would keep laughing no matter what was going on in the weird wide world.
My Story
Shorty after I graduated my 13 and a half year high school career in 1992 I moved on to missionary life. My first time leaving the states was to Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. It was a great eye opening introduction into life in third world settings. I loved it immediately, and enjoyed all the inoculations required for travel in both of my arms. The following year, (1993) at the age of 19, I found myself living in the neighboring country of Belize. I stayed with a missionary family in the fishing village of Boom Creek on the Moho River, miles inland from the most southern town of Punta Gorda. I have never worked so hard in my life, but there we built our homes out of the tropical rain forest. Catching Malaria for the first time (Yes there was another time) was a added perk of the job. I particularly loved the Sunday evenings and to this day, every Sunday I revisit it in my mind.
In 1995, I returned stateside and became a crew chief on a DC-3 for Mission air. This was a Christian organization based in Yulee, Florida that assisted in relief supplies from natural disasters throughout Central America. It also facilitated and transported many missionary teams. In 1997-1998 I attended a 2 year Bible college program and received a degree in Biblical studies.
In 1999 I became involved with Overland Missions and since have been involved in many projects throughout Africa. Much of the focus on Sub-Saharan Africa such as South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Burundi and Kenya. Let me just say It's never been boring and I have seen many amazing and miraculous things that God has done in the lives of countless people. If you ever get bored, hit me up for some stories. I promise sometimes you will scratch your head, sometimes laugh and many times cry. I would not trade my life for anything else, How about you?
